Police Department Car_slider“Paris police are urging citizens to lock their vehicles and remove or hide all property to help eliminate the possibility of becoming a victim,” Garrett said.

According to a police press release on Wednesday, this type of criminal activity is being reported in all parts of town and throughout Lamar County.

If you have information concerning any of these reported burglaries or know the person or persons responsible, you are encouraged to to report that information to police.

If you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact CrimeStoppers at 903.785.TIPS (8477) with your information.

“This is the season that law enforcement across the nation sees a huge rise in this type of crime,” Garrett said. “Don’t give a thief the opportunity by leaving packages or property in plain view inside your vehicles, and please, lock your vehicles every time that you park them.”

Paris police made five arrests on Tuesday, while responding to 95 calls for service.
