Glenn Edwin Rundles
The Lamar County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in the recent aggravated robbery of two women in the East Post Oak community that occurred on January 16, Lamar County Sheriff Scott Cass said today.
Glenn Edwin Rundles, 32, was arrested and is being held on the charge of aggravated robbery, as well as charges for indecent exposure, burglary of a habitation, criminal mischief and evading arrest.
Information shared between the Paris Police Department and the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office led to the capture of Rundles, who is suspect in several criminal offenses in the Paris area, along with the aggravated robbery.
After a suspect description and a police sketch went out to local media outlets and other law enforcement agencies, a Paris PD patrolman called the sheriff’s department on January 19 with information concerning some recent criminal offenses in the Paris area that he thought fit the description of the person sought in the robbery case, the sheriff said.
This information led to a person of high interest in the case. Detectives with the sheriff’s department and Paris Police Department worked together to gather more information on the suspect.
Rundles was arrested on January 23 by both departments for outstanding warrants on unrelated cases but was out of jail on bond for those charges. Then, on January 28, detectives served a second arrest warrant at Rundles residence in Paris for another unrelated case, according to Sheriff Cass.
While officers were attempting to serve the warrant, Rundles, in an attempt to elude officers, made unlawful entry into another person’s residence, took clothing from the residence and fled on foot. After a short foot chase, he was apprehended by a sheriff’s detective and Paris police officer.
Warrants were then gathered today for aggravated robbery in connection with the East Post Oak robbery that is currently under investigation.
“I want to commend the officers from the Sheriff’s Office and the Paris Police Department for the outstanding job in working together, not only to solve this violent crime, but other crimes Rundles was suspect in as well,” Lamar County Sheriff Scott Cass said. “This was good police work and this individual is behind bars where he needs to be.”
Rundles is currently being held in the Lamar County Jail with bonds totaling $135,000. Investigation is still on-going at this time, the sheriff said.
