The Lamar County Sheriff’s Office arrested two individuals this week after a narcotics investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at a residence in the Cunningham community, according to Lamar County Sheriff Scott Cass.
Sheriff narcotics detectives, as well as detectives with the Paris Police Department, Red River County Sheriff’s Office, and the Northeast Texas Auto Theft Task Force served the search warrant on the residence of Jimmie Dewayne Northcutt, where they recovered an amount of suspected methamphetamine and items used to package and weigh the narcotics.
Drug paraphernalia such as, digital scales, zip lock baggies and glass smoking pipes, and a large amount of currency believed to be profits from from drug sales were also found and seized during the search.
Esmeralda Reeves, 32
Northcutt attempted to flush this evidence as detectives made entry into his residence, the sheriff said.
Detectives also recovered identified stolen property from a burglary reported to the sheriff’s office in September 2013.
Sheriff deputies arrested Northcutt on the charges of Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Penalty Group 1, greater than or equal to 4 grams but less than 200 grams) and Tamper/Fabricate Physical Evidence, which are both felony charges.
Also arrested at the residence was Esmeralda Reeves for the same manufacture/delivery of controlled substance charge as Northcutt.
They are currently being held in the Lamar County Jail after Justice of the Peace Gene Hobbs arraigned each of them, setting Northcutt’s bonds at $120,000 and Reeves at $30,000.
Northcutt was arrested in October 2013 after a search warrant found similar amounts of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and currency was found. He was currently out on bond for those charges.
