Paris police respond to 87 calls for service, arrest 6 on Monday

The Paris Police Department arrested six individuals on Monday, while responding to 87 calls for service, according to the department’s public information officer, Curtis Garrett.

Paris police responded to a call of a burglary of a business in the 900 block of NW 34th St. at about 8:19 a.m. on Monday, July 21. It was reported that someone had damaged a door to enter the business. Fingerprints were found at the scene. It is undetermined at this time what may have been taken from the business, but the estimated damage to the door was about $500. The investigation continues.

27 year old Cody Liles Porter, of Reno, was arrested at about 4:27 p.m. on Monday for possession of a controlled substance. Porter was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped for a traffic violation. The driver was arrested when they were found to have outstanding warrants. A small zip-lock baggie was located inside the vehicle where Porter was seated, and the contents tested positive for methamphetamine. He was later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
