The Paris Elks Lodge recently held its annual “Hoop Shoot” free throw contest. From the millions of youngsters who participate and advance through local, district, state and regional competition, six national champions are named—one boy and one girl in each of three categories: ages 8-9, 19-11 and 12-13.
Over 200 hundred students participated in the Paris local contest. Four students from Crockett won their age group and advance to the district competition. From the left are Jarius Murray and Felicity Elli (ages 10-11) and Taylor Looney and Taquavius Williams (ages 12-13). These students will compete in the district contest at Paris Junior High on Saturday, Jan. 12 at 1 p.m.
