Hospice Plus has a station through RSVP that is called Gifts from the Heart. This group meets at Prime Time and has made prayer shawls for hospice patients and blankets for the Cancer Center.
Their most recent project was to make lap blankets for nursing home residents for Christmas. These ladies have worked diligently for months to crocheted, knitted, sew or tie 237 throws that will be shared with participating nursing homes in Lamar County.
Since this group was formed in April of 2012 the group of 30 volunteers have collectively given 5,417 hours and have used over 1000 skeins of yarn. These hours have produced 75 prayer shawls, 30 full size blankets, and 237 lap blankets for the community of Paris.
If you are interested in being a part of this group or donating yarn please call Lisa House at Prime Time 903-737-3672.
