North Lamar High School junior Carson Rast (left) and senior Jessie Angel (right) advanced to nationals after competing at the State Beta Convention in Austin. Angel earned the state championship in English and Rast got runner up in science. Both will be accompanied to the Beta National Convention in Mobile, Alabama, in June with their sponsor Patti Haley (center) and North Lamar Beta members.
