bryantPNDr. Thomas F. Bryant, Jr., 75, of Paris, died at 2:10 AM, Thursday, January 24, 2013 at his home.  A memorial service is set for 2:00 PM, Monday, January 28, 2013 in the chapel of Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. Randall Scott officiating.  Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Tom was born July 17, 1937 in Wellington, Texas the only child of Thomas Floyd and Tiny Glasgow Bryant, Sr.  He graduated from Polytechnic High School in Fort Worth and received his Bachelors of Science degree from North Texas State College.  In 1963, he earned his medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.  Dr. Bryant served in the US Army Medical Corps from 1964-1966.  His internship in Anesthesiology was served at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Fort Worth and his residency in Galveston, UTMB.  He also completed a residency in Pediatric Anesthesiology in Los Angels, California.

He married Beryl Dickens on August 15, 1970 in Galveston.  He had served as an instructor in Anesthesiology in Galveston, practicing Anesthesiology at L.P. McCuistion Regional Medical Center in Paris until his retirement.

Dr. Bryant is survived by his wife, Beryl Bryant of Paris; one son, Thomas F. Bryant III of Austin; one daughter, Enid Tina Price of Cherokee, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Stephanie, Jacob, Haleigh, and Tehya; and one great-grandchild.

David Decker, 94, formerly of Scott City, KS passed away Thursday Jan. 24, 2013. Funeral services are set for 5:00 p.m. Friday Jan. 25 at Red River Valley Mennonite Church in Detroit. The family will receive friends at the Church from 4 until 6 Friday.

Interment will follow in Scott City, Kansas. Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of local arrangements.
