Through the Rotary Healthy Smiles Dental Program, eligible students in Lamar County are receiving dental sealants after being screened in the fall.  At Everett Elementary in the North Lamar Independent School District, approximately 65 second graders will have a thin plastic coating applied to the grooves and chewing surfaces of their teeth to protect them from tooth decay.  The process is short and easy and does not require drilling or removing tooth structure.

In addition to Dr. Kerby who volunteered his time to apply sealants were Dr. Clay Spencer and Dr. Clint Spencer.  Stickers, toothpaste, and toothbrushes supplied by the Rotarians were given to each young patient.
