The Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots Program recently recognized North Lamar sophomore, Miriah Burton, for her outstanding contribution to the Lamar County Toys for Tots program by presenting her with a Special Commander’s Award.
During the holiday season, Burton collected 150 new toys and helped distribute over 6,000 toys to less fortunate families in Lamar County. The Commander’s Award for Public Service is the fourth highest honor the Toys for Tots Campaign can bestow upon a civilian, ranking directly below the Outstanding Civilian Service Award.
