While serving a warrant, Sheriff’s Deputies locate several baggies of Methamphetamine on person

While serving an outstanding assault warrant for an arrest, Lamar County Sheriff’s Deputies found the subject to be in possession of a crystal-like substance that tested positive for Methamphetamine, as well as other drug paraphernalia and a set of scales, according to Sheriff Scott Cass.

sheriffLamar County Deputies, Shanahan and Rogers, went to serve the outstanding warrant to a Anthony Maroney, 29, who was found standing in his front yard upon officer arrival.

Subsequently, he was identified and arrested for the outstanding warrant.  While searching Maroney he was found to be in possession of three baggies of a the crystal like substance that tested positive for Methamphetamine in a presumptive test.

Deputies’ initial approximate aggregate weight of the controlled substance found was over 13 grams of methamphetamine, according to Sheriff Cass.

Maroney was arrested for the Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1 >4g <=200g, as well as the initial warrant — Assault Causing Bodily Injury – Family Violence.

Continuing the search of the scene Deputies found other drug paraphernalia at the scene, including a set of scales.  Tamara Maroney, 24, was also identified on the scene and arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Both were placed in the Lamar County Jail.

For their arraignment, Judge Cindy Ruthhart presided, setting total bonds for Anthony Maroney at $28,000, while Tamara Maroney received a $280 fine for the Drug Paraphernalia charge.
