Two were arrested after stealing a lawn edger from a trailer, while being observed by the owner of the property, who then followed them to a pawn shop to confront them, at which time they ran, according to Paris PD Public Information Officer Curtis Garrett.
23-year-old, Aaron Michael Moreno, and 21-year-old, Courtney Jill Hampton, both of Paris, were arrested upon an investigation, where it was reported to the Paris Police Department that they had been observed taking a lawn edger from a trailer in the 10 block of SE 16th St.
The owner of the property followed Moreno and Hampton to a pawn shop and confronted them about the property. Both then fled the scene, but were located a short time later and placed under arrest for the theft.
Upon further investigation, it was found that both, Moreno and Hampton, had at least two prior theft convictions and each of their charges were enhanced to felonies.
Also reported to Paris Police were one burglary of a residence, two burglaries of vehicles, and two thefts.
On Wednesday, March 20, Paris Police responded to 110 calls for service and arrested 4 persons.
