Stone Middle School Outdoor Education students watch as workers from The Home Depot Foundation put up a fence around North Lamar’s archery range.
A $1,500 grant from The Home Depot Foundation has made it possible to enclose an archery range at North Lamar Independent School District with a chain link fence. The foundation’s community project funding includes labor and materials for Stone Middle School’s Outdoor Education program.
“Having a fence around the range will better define the boundary, secure the targets and equipment for the class, and allow spectators to watch our archers from a safe distance,” said class instructor David Pasternak.
The school’s archery program uses the curriculum from the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) and the Texas Parks & Wildlife Bowhunter Education course.
