William Heuberger, Mayor of Reno, in recognition of his commitment to continuing education, was recently a recipient of the Texas Municipal League Institute’s (TMLI) designation of Certified Municipal Official. This designation was presented at the TMLI Awards Presentation at the TML-AMCC Elected Officials Conference in early February in Austin.
This honor is presented to individuals who completed 72 hours or more of continuing education units (CEUs) during the 2012 calendar year. The 72 hours must include two hours of open government training. Only 31 Certified Municipal Official designations were earned statewide. This is the second year that Mayor Heuberger has earned this designation.
The TMLI program is designed to enhance the leadership and problem solving capabilities of Texas elected city officials. Participants are offered educational sessions on legal issues, budgeting, governance, personnel and more.
Reno Mayor Pro Tem Rick Jordan, council member Walter Cooper, and City Secretary Cara Hubbard also attended the conference.
