All girls want to feel like Cinderella at their prom, and the Cinderella Project is bringing the fairytale to many.

NLHS instructor Sandra Patterson, left, shows off one of the beautiful prom dresses on display and available through the Cinderella Project. Admiring the dress from left are senior Kara Erickson, junior Jaymie Seat, senior Cheyenne Parson, and junior Emily McIlyar.
In its second year, the Cinderella Project allows junior and senior girls to choose from over 200 new and gently worn dresses to wear on a night when the junior class honors the seniors by hosting a dance. No money is exchanged for the dresses and every prom attendee can choose to shop among the many gorgeous dresses. Last year the girls turned their dresses back in, but this year they have a choice to keep or donate them back to the project.
The project was a brainstorm of North Lamar parent Johnna McNeal and North Lamar High School instructor Sandra Patterson when they realized that every girl would like the opportunity to have a beautiful dress for that special night of the year. The only requirement is that they must attend the prom.
The temporary boutique, located at Emmanuel Baptist Church – 1771 Bonham Street in Paris, will be open for North Lamar girls on Saturday, March 27 from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 28 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. For other schools in the county, dates and times for shopping will be posted at each high school.
