Rondal Wilton Compton, 87, of Paris, formerly of Lawton, Oklahoma, died at 11:30 PM, Monday, March 25, 2013. A graveside service is set for 2:00 PM, Friday, March 29, 2013 at ProvidenceCemetery with Dr. Tommy Turner officiating. The family will be at the home of Garry and Karla Davis. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
Ron was born December 14, 1925 in Agawam, Oklahoma to Henry and Rena Ritchey Compton. He married Betty Joy Gibson on September 22, 1944 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. She died April 30, 2011. Mr. Compton was a retired pharmacist and longtime member of First Baptist Church of Lawton. He served his country during World War II in the United States Navy.
Mr. Compton is survived by five children, Rod Compton and wife, Linda, Gary Compton, Karla Compton Davis and husband, Garry, Steve Compton and wife, Kay, and Jan Compton Hover; fourteen grandchildren, Rob, Gina, Joni, Kristine, Mia, Candice, Ryan, Kerri, Mark, Jill, Kayla, Matt, Trent, and Brooke; and four great-grandchildren, Liam, Dylan, Gage, and Gabryele. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Ruby Emerick.
