On February 8th, students from North Lamar High School Band participated in the UIL solo and ensemble contest. Those earning a superior rating on a class 1 solo or ensemble advanced to the State Solo and Ensemble contest at the University of Texas in Tyler on March 1.
North Lamar students who advanced to State and earned an excellent rating were: Grant Erickson, Jake Briscoe, Sergio Rosas, Rachel Stephens, Michael Bean, Brittany Pilkington, and Jamie Ellis. Those earning a Superior Rating were: MacKenzie Beckmon, Jalon Franklin, Zach Routon, Savannah Bishop, Madison Staggs, Victoria White, Ty Driggers, Jakob McClain, Trinity McReynolds, Kaitlyn Jolley, Chad Kautz, Tyler Stone, Adrienne Andrews, Kaylee Thomason, and the Marimba Trio of Molly Denman, Bonnie McIlyar, and Brittany Pilkington.
