PHS Spanish National Honor Society inducts 25 new members

image005The Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica is an honor society for high school students of high academic achievement enrolled in Spanish and Portuguese.  The society is sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese.  Formally organized as the Spanish National Honor Society in 1953, the name was changed in 1959.  At present there are over 1700 national and international chapters.

To be eligible, students must have an average of 85 in the third year of study of Pre-AP or AP Spanish and be in the 10th grade or higher.  The student must complete a minimum of three years of advanced Spanish and remain an active member in good standing.
