Two arrested for drug possession; Paris PD Press Release – April 3

At about 2am on April 03, Paris Police responded to the 1700 block of NE 7th Street, where a person wanted to report that someone had stolen a key to his room in his home. While police assisted the victim in a search for the key, officers located a crack pipe laying in plain view on the complainants bedside table. Next to the pipe was a rock of crack cocaine.

paris police car61-year-old Charles Coleman was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance in a drug free zone and possession of drug paraphernalia.

At 4:46 A.M. on Wednesday, a Paris Police officer observed a vehicle with its lights on parked in a parking lot of a business in the 1200 block of Clarksville Street.  The officer knew that this business was not open at this time of night. When he made contact with the occupant, it was found that they had three outstanding traffic warrants for their arrest. Then while the officer inventoried the vehicle prior to it being released to the wrecker service, the officer found a small coin purse that contained a small baggie of methamphetamine.

49-year-old Trasia Darlene Whitley, of Powderly, was placed under arrest for possession. Upon searching her purse, she was also found to be in possession of numerous prescription pills that she did not have a prescription for.

Whitley was charged with 2 counts of Possession of a controlled substance, 2 counts of possession of a dangerous drug and the two traffic warrants.

Paris Police responded to 90 calls for service and arrested 13 persons on Tuesday, April 02, 2013.
