North Lamar Independent School District Superintendent James A. Dawson was recognized during the high school and middle school choir and band concert on Monday night. Dawson was awarded the State’s TMEA Distinguished Administrator Award for his support to the many music program successes in schools across the state and his support to the district’s music programs over the last 26 years. He currently serves on the Region IV UIL Music Committee.
Presenting Dawson a framed certificate are the district’s music instructors. Beginning left are Parker and Everett Music Director Jan McKinney, Stone Band Director Gina Ervin, Stone Associate Director Janie Logee, Stone Choir Director Michelle Anderson, NLHS Choir Director Rebecca Hildreth, Dawson, NLHS Associate Band Director Jason R. Smith, NLHS Band Director Randy Jones, and NLHS and Stone Associate Director Ron Williams.
