Obituaries Friday, April 19

snowPNLeroy Dewain Snow, 76, of Paris passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family.  Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 AM  Monday, April 22, 2013 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with Father Morgan White officiating .  Burial will follow at Union Grove Cemetery.  Rosary will be held at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home 5 PM Sunday, April 21, 2013 with visitation to follow from 5:30 PM until 7 PM.

Leroy was born in Ryan, Oklahoma June 20, 1936 a son of Matthew and Annie Beadle Snow, the youngest of 10 children.  He married Hilda Daugherty in Paris, Texas on July 27, 1973.  He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp.  He graduated from Denison High School in 1954 and attended S.E. Oklahoma University. He worked at the Denison Herald Democrat before moving to Paris, Texas as Assistant Advertising Director of the Paris News.  He worked as Advertising Director at KPLT Radio. Leroy became a Realtor in 1972 and Real Estate Broker in 1978 forming Snow Real Estate. He served as President of Paris Board of Realtors in 1985.  He continued in Real Estate and Property Management until his illness in January 2013.  He was Property Manager for Maribeau Square for 11 years.

Golfing was his life-long passion along with fishing with his daughters. He and Hilda enjoyed traveling and vacationing with friends on the beaches and golf courses in Florida and Gulf Shores, Alabama. He was a Charter Member of the Elks Lodge of Paris and member of Paris Golf and Country Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, seven siblings and his two precious pets, Andre and Tiffy.
Survivors include his wife, Hilda, four daughters, Catherine Calhoun and husband David, Kelly Snow, Karen Stuart and husband Spencer of Dallas, Kim Snow of Reno and  the mother of his children, Virginia Snow of Dallas. Grandchildren, Matthew D. Calhoun, Kelsey Calhoun, Morgan Wenger, Samantha Stadelmyer and Anthony Finn; great grandaughter, Melody Phifer; and loving sisters, Margie Smith of Alvin Texas and Gladys Gulledge of Denison and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Holmes, Mike Bass, Dean Holmes, David Calhoun, Matthew Calhoun and Roger Daugherty, Jr.  Honorary Pallbearers are Bill Bass, Don Wall, Weldon Slaton, Roger Daugherty, Sr. Tony Daugherty, Dennis Daugherty, John Robinson, Larry Fendley and members of his PG & CC Golf Group.

His life was filled with love, fun and laughter with his friends and family.  Special thanks to Dr. Bercher, Dr. Wasey Jabbar, Mandy Helberg, Rachael Wood, and Deborah Mosley of Platinum Hospice Care.
