Paris man robbed at gunpoint, assaulted over the weekend – Paris PD Press Release; May 6

Paris Police are investigating a robbery — involving an assault and the victim being held at gunpoint — that occurred in the 300 block of Stone Ave on May 5, according to Paris PD Public Information Officer Curtis Garrett.

Paris Police car“It was reported to police that the victim and another male were sitting in a vehicle when they heard a gunshot,” Officer Garrett stated. “The victim stated that 3 black males with bandanas over their faces then approached the vehicle, and one of the males pointed a gun at him and demanded money.”

The three males then pulled the victim from the vehicle and assaulted him. The victim then went to the emergency room where the police were summoned.

Over the weekend, 20 persons were arrested. Two were arrested for driving while intoxicated, three for possession of marijuana, two for possession of controlled substances, five for theft, one for assault, five for city traffic warrants, and one on an emergency detention. Paris Police responded to 305 calls for service.

At about 7:48 A.M. on May 04, Paris Police responded to the 700 block of N Main Street where it was reported that someone had burglarized a business. The victim advised that they had arrived at work on this date to discover that someone had entered the business through a hole in the brick wall and had taken some items from the store. The incident is under investigation.

On May 05, Paris Police responded to three burglaries of residences where the victims were at a family gathering when the burglaries occurred. The residences were located near the 2300 block of W Austin Street. It is believed that all of the burglaries are related. The incidents are under investigation.
