John William “Bill” Blevins, 91, of Pattonville, TX went to be with the Lord on Sunday June 9, 2013. Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home will conduct graveside service at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday June 11 at Highland cemetery in Deport with Rev. Jerry Moore officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery 30 minutes prior to service at 1:30 p.m.
Bill was born March 16, 1922 to Clayton and Clyde Humphries Blevins in Pattonville. He married Ruby Dee Newsom April 27, 1940 in Crossroads, Texas. He attended PattonvilleHigh School. Bill farmed cotton and ranched cattle his entire life. He was known for his sweet corn and peas.
He was a board member of East Lamar School and ASCS office. He was an honorary member of Prairiland FFA and attended all of East Lamar and Prairiland athletics sporting events. Before the days of buses at EastLamarSchool District, Bill contracted with the school to transport the students with his own truck.
Bill Blevins is survived by his wife of 73 years, Ruby Dee Blevins; their adopted son, Mickey Keener; nephew Dewey Pate and nieces Inez Weaver, Alice Ruth Gravatt, and Dorothy Anderson.
Pallbearers include Glen Evans, Harold Blackburn, Charles Fendley, Bobby Winters, Larry Woodall and Elvin Bell.

Rhonda Bryan, 63, of Paris passed away Monday June 10, 2013 at Paris Regional Medical Center. Arrangements are pending with Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home.
