“TxDOT workers were inspecting the roadway before beginning road work, and one of the workers saw the body under the bridge and notified law enforcement,” stated Sheriff Scot Cass

The Texas Rangers are on-site to assist the Sheriff’s Department investigators. The identity of the deceased is still unknown, and it is still unclear whether the body is a male or female, due to the extreme decomposition. Investigators are treating the case as a homicide, according to officials with the Sheriff’s Department.
“The body is very decomposed, and I cannot say right now whether its male or female at this point,” Cass said. ”A lot of rumors are going around as to the identification of the body, but I cannot verify any identity at this time.”
“We will be sending the body to a lab out of county for a full autopsy,” he continued.
