Paris Rotarians held their 28th annual fireworks display to celebrate the Fourth of July holiday on Wednesday night, and hundreds of Parisians made camp to watch as the explosives lit up the sky.
The annual fireworks show was held at Paris High School’s football stadium. This was the first time for the event to be held at this location, which is usually hosted at Noyse Stadium.
Crowds of people flowed in at 7 p.m. when the gates opened, as the Paris Municipal Band played patriotic tunes. Many other people lined the streets and filled the many parking lots surrounding the high school.
At around 8:45 p.m., the Blue Skies Parachute Team plane made a couple of circles above the stadium before four parachuters fell to the ground in front of the cheering crowd.
The fireworks began as the sun finished setting.
