Andres Venegas Peralta, 57, of Blossom, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2013, at his home.
A Rosary will be held at 5:00 p.m. Friday July 19th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 noon, Sunday, July 21, 2013, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with Father Morgan White officiating. Burial will follow in Union Grove Cemetery.
Andres, the son of Felipe Peralta & Antonia Venegas Peralta, was born Nov. 10, 1955, in Mexico. He married Maria Abrana Valero on June 1, 1991, and she preceded him in death in 2003.
As a child he had minimal schooling, only completing through the 3rd grade. Given that he managed to become a very knowledgeable man. He was great with numbers which lead him to become an expert carpenter. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church.
His parents, his wife, an infant sister, a brother, Candelario Peralta, and a sister-in-law, Linda Peralta, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his son, Arturo Peralta, seven brothers, Trine Peralta, Salvador Peralta, Humberto Peralta & wife Rosa, Crescencio Peralta & wife Alicia, Gildo Peralta & wife Elva, Juan Peralta & wife Juana and Ciro Peralta & wife Rhonda along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Casket bearers will be: Alfredo Zermeño, Ciro Peralta, Apolinar Peralta, Harry Peralta, Ruben Peralta and Felipe Peralta. Honorary bearers will be: Adrian Peralta, Ramiro Peralta, Samson Peralta and Johnathan Smith.

William “Newt” Michel, 77, of Paris, died Thursday, July 18, 2013 at his home. A graveside service is set for 11:00 AM, Monday, July 22, 2013 at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will be at Mr. Michel’s home on Sunday afternoon. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
Newt was born August 30, 1935 in Blossom to James Henry and Mary Ann Hill Michel. He was a retired farmer. The family would like to thank Brenda Allen for all the love and care that she gave their father during his last days.
Mr. Michel is survived by three daughters, Donna Blackshear and husband, Clifton, Mary Clark and her life partner, Cyndi, and Karen Rios and husband, Jose; eight grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, James Michel; and one sister, Kathy Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents; the mother of his children and best friend, Wanda Michel; a son-in-law, Dwayne Clark, Sr.; and a great-grandson, Adrian Pendergraft.
