Award winning songwriter and soulful singer, musician Emily Elbert returns to That Guy’s Coffee & Listening Room on Friday.
This amazing acoustic guitar virtuoso has been deemed ‘just beautiful’ by music icon John Mayer. The Dallas Morning News said ‘catch her while you can’. She’s unique and original; a superstar on the rise.
The first sentence of her bio on EmilyElbert.com gives you a quick insight into the artist she is. It reads:
Emily Elbert is going places. Full of love, soul, and wanderlust, the 24-year-old has performed all over the U.S. and in 15 countries around the world, from Peru to Palestine, from Turkey to Thailand. Raised in Texas on a musical diet of Antonio Carlos Jobim, James Taylor, and ’60s radio, Emily first fell in love with guitar as a teenager.
Since those days of falling in love with the guitar as a teenager, she is now a young woman that has traveled all over the world carrying her guitar, writing crafty original songs — recognized and honored with numerous awards and playing over 600 shows internationally.
A Texas native and Berklee College of Music graduate, she has released three independent records of original material, according to her website’s bio. Her cover of ‘Thriller’ on YouTube has gained just over 440,000 views.
“Emily is a favorite among our audiences,” That Guy’s owner Gerald Hutchings said.
On this return to The Listening Room, she will bring a special guest — her father Roland — to play keyboards for the evening.
Sponsored by Sonic Drive-In and UpTown Properties, Friday’s concert will start at 7:30 p.m.; doors open at 7. Tickets are $25 and you can get them by clicking here or by calling (903) 272-9687.
Watch the video below of Emily Elbert performing her original tune ‘Evolve’ and you will see that she is a special talent — a really special soulful kind of talent. The kind that doesn’t come around all that often. Get your tickets quick. This will be a entertaining and classy way to spend a Friday evening.
That Guy’s Coffee & Listening Room is located at 117 Clarksville Street. Visit www.thatguyscoffee.com for more information and updates on future performances.
