The hammers are back, the sights aimed and everything is ready for the Valley of the Caddo Museum and Cultural Center’s Big Gun and Knife Show to be held at the Love Civic Center on Saturday and Sunday.

The Valley of the Caddo’s Big Gun and Knife Show will be held at the Love Civic Center – 2025 S. Collegiate Dr.
The doors will be open for shopping from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
The public is invited to come buy, trade and shop through the guns, ammo, knives, jewelry, old coins and other collectibles. Admission is $7 for adults. Children under 12 get in free.
“There will be lots of items for both men and women,” Valley of the Caddo board member, Jimmy Don Nicholson, said.
In order to raise funds to develop a new museum, the Valley of the Caddo will have a benefit drawing to give away a Remington Model 700 30-06 at this year’s show.
Tickets can be purchased prior to the drawing which will be held at 3:45 p.m. on Sunday. You will not need to be present to win.
“The gun has a great feel when you shoulder it,” Nicholson said.
The Valley of the Caddo Museum has a Stargazers Club and is a big supporter of both the Trail de Paris and the Northeast Texas Trail Coalition. They are also a member of the Lamar County Chamber of Commerce.
The Big Gun and Knife Show is a fundraiser for the organization. They are raising funds to develop a new museum for their many artifacts, which include pottery, mastodon fossils that could have been found in local creek beds and much more.
