Small businesses using QuickBooks have an opportunity to gain insights from an expert this August in a class sponsored by the Paris Junior College Small Business Development Center, according to PJC officials.

“This course is designed for those already familiar with QuickBooks,” said SBDC Director Bradley Gottshalk. “Our Business and QuickBooks Pro advisor, Jim Struwe, will focus on key areas: setting up and working with payroll, inventory control, budgeting and customizing and correcting QuickBooks.”

A seasoned accountant with 40 years of corporate and small business experience, Struwe has owned small businesses, worked on government contracts, and secured SBA-backed funding. He has been with the SBDC since 2011.

The course, QuickBooks Pro 2012 Level 2, will be taught from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesdays, Aug. 6-20, at the computer lab in the Walters Workforce Training Center.

“I use QuickBooks on a daily basis,” said Premier Home Care & Hospice administrator and Paris Rotary Treasurer, Chris Johnson. “The application is very user friendly, efficient and practical. I would recommend it to all small business owners.”
