Five students with the Prairiland FFA Chapter have been honored with the prestigious Lone Star FFA Degree at the Texas FFA state convention. This degree is the highest of awards bestowed by the Texas FFA.

Chelsea Kimberling, Sierra Kruse, Bailey Woodard, and Colton Webb were among Prairiland students awarded this degree at the 85th annual state convention held in Dallas, Texas.
This distinguished award recognizes FFA members who have received the Chapter degree, been active FFA members for at least two years, complete at least four semesters of agricultural science at or above the ninth grade level, maintain a supervised agricultural experience (SAE) program, demonstrate their leadership skills and show a commitment to the FFA through involvement at the chapter level and above.
These students were among 1,700 FFA members from Texas receiving this esteemed degree.
The 85th annual Texas FFA State Convention recorded more than 11,000 members and guests, according to school officials.
The Texas FFA is the nation’s largest state FFA association with a membership of more than 95,000 members and 1,000 local FFA chapters.
