treadway 2Clifton “Pops” Treadway, 69 of Pattonville, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2012 at his residence.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home.  Inurnment of his ashes will take place at a later date at theNational Cemetery.

He was born in Alexandria, Louisiana on August 10, 1943 to Otha Clifton and Marie Overstreet Treadway.  He married Jeanne Smolowitz on May 25, 1963 in Nyack, New York. He was retired from the United States Navy.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Treadway; children, Lisa Marie Treadway Martin Vest and husband Larry Shane, Andrew Clifton Treadway and wife Nicole; grandchildren, Lacey Marie Martin, Kerri Beth Martin, Mia N. Treadway, Joshua Treadway; sister, Sadie Irene Treadway Friolie.

He was preceded in death by his parents.


Eddie Glenn Copeland, 46, of Paris passed away Monday December 31, 2012 at Dubuis Hospital in Paris. Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home will conduct graveside services at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday January 2, 2013 at Prairie Ridge cemetery with Pastor Robert Myre officiating. There will not be a formal visitation.

Eddie was born April 22, 1966 in Paris a son of Billy June Copeland Sr. and Robbie Neil Christian Copeland. He was an air conditioner repairman.

He was preceded in death by his father, Billy June Copeland Sr. and a brother Jeffrey Copeland.

Survivors include sons Chachi Waggoner (Copeland), Cody Copeland, Aarron Copeland; mother Robbie Neil Copeland; brothers, Billy Copeland, Brad Copeland; sister Wanda Darlene Easton; numerous nieces and nephews.

partridge001Ricky C. Partridge, 59, a lifetime Paris resident, passed from this life unexpectedly at his home on Monday December 31, 2012.  Cremation was provided by Starrett Funeral Home. There will be no formal memorial observance, but friends are invited and welcomed to call at the family residence.

Ricky was born September 7, 1953 in Paris, a son of Delmer and Dorothy Layton Partridge. He was a graduate of Paris High School, and employed in the Maintenance Division of Paris Regional Medical Center, where he had worked for twenty-five years. Ricky had a love of fishing and gardening, and enjoyed time spent together with friends.

He married Nancy Duckworth on March 23, 1981 in Paris. They lovingly renewed their vows on their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary in 2006.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Christina Partridge; his father, Delmer Partridge; two brothers, Delmer Gene Partridge and Robert Dale Partridge;  his mother-in-law, Christine Robertson; and a brother-in-law, Robert Lee Duckworth, Jr.

He is survived by his loving wife Nancy; a son, Clinton Wayne Layton, of Paris; his mother, Dorothy Layton Partridge Goss, of Paris; two brothers, Danny Ray Partridge and wife Marsha, of California and Paul Edward Partridge and wife Barbara, of Paris; a brother-in-law, Thomas Duckworth, of Tennessee; two sisters-in-law, Sherry Waller and husband Frank, of Richmond Hill, Georgia, and Linda Lee, of Sweetwater; his father-in-law, Robert Lee Duckworth, of Sweetwater; his four-legged buddy, Murphy; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

scan0001Teddy Wayne Anderson, 77, of Paris, passed away Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012.

A gathering of family and friends is scheduled from 6 – 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home. A private burial will be made in Restland Cemetery at Roxton.

Mr. Anderson, the son of Nick & Maggie Newkirk Anderson, was born Dec. 4, 1935, in Lamar County.

In 1955 he married Dora Fay O’Neal building fifty-five years of family and memories before her death on Oct. 5, 2010.

He was a carpenter and cabinet maker. He was always in a band and loved playing music. In his younger years, he was a pitcher in fast pitch softball and enjoyed coon hunting

Other than his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Marty Anderson on Jan. 19, 2005,  and by 3 sisters and 3 brothers.

Survivors include three children, Tammy Daugherty & husband Todd of Powderly, Danny Anderson & wife Susan of Powderly and Teddy Wayne Anderson, Jr.  & wife Sarah of Paris, grandchildren, Connie Lester & husband Charlie, Nick Anderson, Shawn Winton, D. J. Anderson & wife Samantha, Buddy Daugherty, Cody Daugherty, Chris Black and Angie Black, 9 great grandchildren along with several nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
