Sydney Morris Richey, 74, of Paris went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 10, 2013.
He was born on January 31, 1939 in Roxton a son of Hunter and Irma Delinger Richey. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Elks Lodge and served in the U.S. Army. He was personnel manager at Superior Switchboard, worked for Boring-Fields, and was vice president of Hanna Construction Company. He was preceded in death by his first wife Ruby Lenore Richey, son Robert Richey, parents, and a brother James Hunter “Jim” Richey.
Sydney will be remembered as a very sweet, loving, and giving man that loved his Lord. He never met a stranger making those around him feel comfortable and loved. He met every Monday to have coffee with guys from Sea Battery 132nd Artillery 49th Armored Division.
Survivors include his wife Judy Wright Richey whom he married on December 21, 2002 in Paris; son Rusty “Russ” Richey and wife Chonnie; step-children John Paul Davis and Karol Goforth; grandchildren Sofia Richey, Kara Richey, Lanchlan Richey, Steven McDowell, Jayla Davis, Jana Davis, Hunter Davis, Ashley Mann, and Amber Vinnci and spouse Gerald; great grandchildren Gavin and Ayden; sister-in-law Sue Richey; two nephews and several cousins.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at the Hickory Grove Cemetery with Rev. Mickey Ellis officiating. Pallbearers will be Billy Porter, Rio Ingram, Thomas Roach, Marion Parker, Billy Fred Parr, Bobby Walters, and Homer Smith. If desired memorials may be made to the Gideons. Services are under the direction of the Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home.
