photo 4Merry Christmas and holiday wishes from the eParis Extra! Thank you to all of our readers and supporters.  2013 is now just around the corner; may it be fulfilled with prosperous good times and happiness.

If you wished for snow this Christmas, you got it.  Paris and many surrounding areas were graced with a white Christmas this year, as a rather severe and wet winter storm blew through on Christmas day.

The rain started very early in the morning and turned to snow around 2:30 in the afternoon.  Once the snow started falling, it continued for hours, coating all of Paris with a beautiful white hue — a Winter Wonderland.

The temperatures are expected to stay below freezing on Wednesday, with a high of only 30° Fahrenheit predicted and a low of 19°.  It will begin to warm up on Thursday, as the high is expected to get around 45° and the low around 37°.

Please be careful when you are traveling on Wednesday.  With the subfreezing temperatures, the ice and snow that fell on Christmas day is expected to stay and the roads will likely have ice on them in many places — especially bridges, elevated areas, and locations in the roadways less traveled than others.

Keep an eye on the Extra to check for school closures and other weather updates as they are made available.  Again, happy holidays from the staff of the eParis Extra.
