Amanda Kay DemingAmanda Kay Deming, 48, of Reno, passed away Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at her home.

Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Young officiating. Burial will follow in Union Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26th, at the funeral home.

Amanda, the daughter of Lee Jay & Helen Maxine Wheeler Deming, was born July 4, 1964, in Sault Ste. Marie, MI.  She graduated from Smithville High School in Smithville, TX in 1982. She was an administrative assistant for David Glass Investments, LLC. Amanda was a proud member of the Army Mom’s.

Her parents, a brother, Daniel Deming & a nephew, Daniel Deming preceded her in death.

Survivors include her sons, David Wayne Miller, Jr. of Reno, Steven DeWayne Miller & wife Angela Marie of Ft. Bliss – El Paso, and Jeremy Ray Miller of Reno, a sister, Helen Deborah “Debbie” Measom & husband Raleigh (who reared her) of Gonzales, TX,  two brothers, John Jay Deming & wife Sharon of Bruno, AR and Mark Lewis Deming of AR, grandchildren, Aubrianna Reese “Aubrey” Miller and David Wayne Miller, III, nieces & nephews, Karina Ann Ochs, Joseph Lee Measom, Christina Grifaldo, Russell E. Measom, Rachel Ashorn, Lane Deming & Shane Deming.

Casket bearers will be: David Miller, Jr., Steven Miller, Jeremy Miller and Bryan Glass.

Troy Gene Gibbens, 84, of Paris, died Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Red River Regional Hospital in Bonham.  A graveside service is set for 2:30 PM, Friday, December 28, 2012 at Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Judi Brandt officiating.  No formal visitation hour will be observed.  Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.

Troy was born August 1, 1928 in Atlas to William T. and Arthur Mattie Caldwell Gibbens.  The family lived in Electra, San Antonio and Corpus Christi prior to moving back to Paris.  He served in the US Army during the Korean War from 1950-1952 stationed in Korea and Japan.  He later worked at Campbell Soup in Paris for 28 years before retiring.  He lived in Powderly for the last fifteen years before moving to The Texas State Veterans Home in Bonham in late October of this year.

Mr. Gibbens was preceded in death by his parents; all three of his brothers, S.P., Roland, and Tommy Gibbens; one sister, Ina Bill Williams; and a nephew, Larry Bob Williams.  He is survived by one sister, Norma Neal and a sister-in-law, Betty Gibbens.  He is also survived by seven nieces, Janita Parker, Kathy Lee, Janet Gibbens, Terrie Ogle, Katy Donovan, Sherry Hale and Karen Sumner; and two nephews, Tommy Gibbens, Jr. and Allen Gibbens.
