Paris Police Detectives were made aware that someone had been forging checks on local businesses and cashing the checks at local banks. At about 1:05 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, detectives responded to First Federal Community Bank at 630 Clarksville Street, where it was reported that a blond haired black female was attempting to cash a check on a local business.

Detectives arrested 46-year-old Felecia Meshell Scott, of Dallas, when the check that she was attempting to cash was determined to be a forged check, according to Garrett.

Officers also responded to Guaranty Bond Bank at 2015 NE Loop 286, where it was reported that several forged checks had been cashed there earlier in the day. One of those checks had been cashed by a blond haired black female.  Further police investigation revealed that Scott had also cashed this check and was charged with a second count of forgery. The activity is under investigation.

Paris Police responded to 108 calls for service and arrested 9 persons on Tuesday, May 28.
