Paris Junior College offers Adult Literacy & English as a Second Language Courses in January

Pyro_PJC_SliderThe Adult Education and Family Literacy Department at Paris Junior College has set orientation dates for General Education Development (GED) classes and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes. These sessions will be held at Paris Junior College at 2400 Clarksville Street.

All new and returning students are required to attend one of the orientation sessions in order to complete the intake paperwork and the testing to assure they are in the correct session.  Students will need to attend an orientation session in order to be able to sign up for ESL courses.

All classes are offered at no cost to the student. However, students must commit to attend class each day and meet program requirements to accomplish learning goals. All students must complete a baseline and progress test and adhere to attendance policy rules and department requirements. Sixteen-year-olds must be court ordered and submit a copy of this document prior to the first class day. Seventeen-year-old students must submit a copy of a school withdrawal form from the last school attended prior to the first class day. Seventeen-year-olds may also be court ordered to attend GED classes at Paris Junior College. Parents or guardians of 16 or 17 year old students must complete release form information prior to the first day of class.

Intake sessions for General Education Development will be held on Tuesdays, Jan. 8 at either 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 5-9 p.m. and on Jan. 15 at either 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 5-9 p.m. All sessions will be at PJC’s Rheudasil Learning Center, Adult Education Department.

English as a Second Language intake sessions will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 16 from 9 a.m. to noon or 6-9 p.m. at PJC’s Rheudasil Learning Center, Adult Education Department.
